I think that whatever happens in the end of episode 9, it just won't be the baby that's taken but Darla as well. Greenwalt made a point in episode 1 that Holtz wanted Darla more than he ever wanted Angelus. For Holtz to have Angelus in his hands and not kill him but take after Darla is pretty telling and I think strong foreshadowing of what's to happen in episode 9.

Also since Julie is filming Taken at the same time, the writers would have to create a situation where we'll see her from time to time, but still have her be pretty pivotal in the arc after episode 9 until sweeps again. If her and the baby are kidnapped by Holtz, that leaves Julie time to do short scenes here and there of Darla and the baby being held captive by Holtz.

And then we'll see her full blown again during February sweeps or something.

I speculate further that Holtz kidnapping Darla and the baby fits in very nicely in regards to Holtz getting his revenge on Angel. For once Angel will know what it was like for him (Holtz), to chase Darla and Angelus around Europe. Imagine the pain for Angel?


In the description all we hear about Holtz is he's planning something, but there's nothing of an attack or more importantly Darla and Angel knowing of Holtz's now living status. I think that points out to an even more surprise appearance of the character near the end of episode 9.
