I mean why were Darla and Angel able to have a child? Honestly, I think it just has to do with the prophecy and tPTB just allowed it simply because it was fated to happen. I don't *think* Darla and Angel can have kids with others or even again. It was just that one moment in time where it was allowed.

Kind of like with Scully and Mulder! Ha! Both of whom also had a boy!

I think that made sense.
