Well, you could chalk it up to people's personal preferances. I love B/S, A/D, and A/C, well,for the moment I'm not quite ready to see romance yet, but I'd like for them to take it a bit slowly and not at the expense of Darla meaning:"Look at Cordy, see how perfect she is with the baby. Look at Darla, that evil skank, she'll never be a good mom!"

As for the people not wanting to see Angel with anyone, it's been three darn years since B/A, and Angel's on his own show. It's about time he had a love interest. Buffy's in the past, way, way, in the past, Angel and Darla or Angel and Cordy are in the very immediate present.

This is just my private opinion, but I think some of the people who want Angel to be alone on his series are mentally keeping him "safe" for Buffy. As long as Angel doesn't pursue a relationship or have sex (darla-sex is put in their mind as just "sex" not, pure love and doesn't count) If Angel falls in love with Cordy, which is definitely the most likely thing at the moment, then Angel becomes less "safe" in their minds as a Buffy-love interest. Weird, I know, but it's a theory.
