Actually in response to an earlier message, Darla IS part of Angel's future and present because of the baby, new life represents all of the potential and the future it can create.

I agree that some of the shippers don't seem to care for Darla because of the major role she plays in Angel's life. And I just have to add to the record that I love BTVS, I think she's a really strong character and she and Spike should get together, but I really hate it whenever she and Angel get back together. They usually end up in tears and heart breakers and sometimes fist fights and they can never stay together for that long because they each have their own seperate series. But still, they're relationship was sweet while it lasted.

The same goes for Darla and Angel and with the baby coming up, there could be a potential friendship between the two-even romance. So I never hated Darla, except for maybe in the first season when I didn't know how important a role she played in Angel's life. I fell in love with her character almost at the start.
