I would not be missed if I never showed up today.
I am transparent and that's how it remains to stay.
No one would be worried if my voice was no longer heard.
They'd consider me a fairy tale... one they never learned.

I wonder if they'd notice my empty seat at work?
I wonder if they'd remember, that in their halls, I lurked?
My heart is not real to all, to them, I'm clear as glass.
Being transparent has advantages, anywhere, I can pass.

I pretend that I'm a ghost and haunt those who I'd despised.
Sometimes, they'd think someone there, but would just rub their eyes.
I stand in front of the mirror, and it ruins all my fun.
I can see my reflection and see my mascara smudge and run.

I wonder if they know that I have a heart?
It's not invisible... not that part!
It stings and cries and bleeds and moans.
I pick up my chains, and again, I roam.
