Subject: Mindless Fantasy

Drifting in a world of mindless fantasy
Many strange curiosities I do see
Throughout this place of suspended animation
I float on a mushroom cloud for an infinite duration
Is the giant tarantula approaching only an illusion
Just another one of my psychotic delusions
I wanted to escape my fingerprint personality
This world will never mirror reality perfectly
For my reality is such a drag
Pain seems to be making me quite the hag
Lying beneath much sludge and dirt
You will discover all my grief and hurt
Happiness is now only a sweet mirage
A life now lived behind a brilliant facade
My heart has become a whorehouse for pain
Which visits me often to make me insane
I have thought of hopping in my trusty chevrolet
Push the gas to the floor and just speed away
I desperately long for some kind of escape
From the constant reminder of a horrible mistake
That always echoes in my mind like thunder
Knowing all this, how can you still wonder
Why I would choose to stay in my dream
Though it would appear to be quite extreme
I will stay here and float through the skies
Up here where the colorful toucan flies
For it is only here I can truly be free
Peacefully drifting in a mindless fantasy
