An Astonishing Enigma

Very puzzling it is and full of disgust,
an astonishing enigma in the desert dust.
The animal behaviors you observe there,
are simply unbelieveable, beyond compare.

The jackrabbit has nowhere to hide,
Mother Nature has never lied.
As daring as they may all be,
they are still food for the coyote.

Like us enjoying pasta on a plate,
the coyote's meal just can't wait.
Rabbits can't disappear behind the big door,
running from coyotes many times before.

If they're caught and the coyote begins to chew,
they don't have an infimary anywhere in view.
You might say they are stuck with eternal damnation,
just because of nature's laws of predatation.

If they ever think, "I've made a mistake",
the danger they face is real, not fake.
Chewed up like an apple, taking nature's abuse,
their blood serves as the coyote's glass of juice.

Unlike the Mona Lisa, this is no pretty sight to see,
white as a sheet, death comes very rapidly.
Is there a book titled: Only The Strong Survive,
about the coyotes and why they're alive?

Preying on many small varmints out there,
and not acting like they have a care.
However, it's not all dining and having fun,
there's always that hunter with a gun.
