I want them to look like this, only just a hint of white over the tops of the yolks. I bet you guys are very good at this. I am inept! (NT) -- PIXIE, 15:45:16 09/25/01 Tue
Contd. from below....at the age of 15 I wanted to impress a boyfriend and make a chocolate coffee cake and was going to frost it. Well I made a butter cream frosting and then was going to color it so I added a few drops of green that was like St. Paddys Day so I added a few drops of blue....opps....not being an artist and knowing what colors mixed together make what colors I came out with a battleship grey color, as it was to late to start again I frosted the cakes and served it. Neither the boyfriend nor my brother said anything they just ate it. In later years brother joined the Navy and reminded me about the frosting color....ha ha.... (NT) -- Joan, 16:46:10 09/22/01 Sat
I shouldn't be here becasue I love to cook, my Dad started out as a cook and I learned from him.But I can contribute some funnies that happened to me early on, some have heard these before.
1. was making beef stew, when done put can biscuits all around the outer edge and covered to steam. Well they didn't rise and since I thought they are made of flour etc. I just stirred them into the stew, well the end product was like something you could have used for wall paper glue with meat lumps....37 years and John still teases me about that.....well we all have to start some place....hee hee (NT)
