Subject: Final days

It has been a while since we up dated you on the Matria adventure. Cindy O'Leary visited us this month to deliver the news that the weekend BBL was finally going back to GA. We were all invited to go there! I am sure you know what we answered. February 25/26, 2001 will be our last day/night. Here is the scoop on our futures....
Gloria has no future! She got a lay-off notice from her full time job also. At the end of February she is really out of work. Her good news is that she leaves that job with a 6 month package. Sure a lot better than our 4 weeks. She also can apply for a job in another department at the company (& she does not have to move to GA to do it).
Elaine moved from a part time BBL job to a full time Diabetic Center job a few months ago. Her new boss is Sims (the past FFN pharmacist). That change to full time is good for her & her "shopping" adventures. (She does not know that I am writing this & will be surprised to find her name here.
Sue also moved on a few months ago. She went back to the hospital, Mother/Baby unit nights. I can't recall the hospital now. It is close to her home. She & Terry were doing screens more & more as the BBL calls dropped off. (We are getting 20-25 calls per 12hr shift...down from the 50-60 day calls & 30+ night calls.) You know how much the BBL nurses liked to do screens. It was not long before Sue started to look for something better.
Terry is still here, doing screens & filling in for Sherry & me when we need time off. Soon some of us will have lots of time off! Terry resting her body & mind & contemplating her next move. I think she will enjoy some slack time in her busy life.
Sherry as some of you (Alisia & Rebecca) already know has been hired by Health Connections. She has started orientation already. When she interviewed & asked for weekends & nights. You can imagine how fast they scooped her up.
My news is that we (Tom & I) moved to Laguna Woods last August. We left a 4+ bedroom home for a 1000 sqft condo. We are trying to figure out where to put some things & if we need to give more things away. I intend to collect unemployment & look for a perfect job....lots of money & no work...sort of like this one! I am not sure that any one will even want a 64 yr old nurse. retirement here I come.
P.S. Teri Carmona is no longer working in the monitoring center. Delores is still there, but she is also looking for the perfect job.
Hope all of you are well & happy. I will look for the next get together posting on this site in hopes of seeing you sometime in the near future. Felicia
