But in fairness to everyone here, I think that, Mr. Toronto, you are overestimating the star status of your idol!!!!!! FYI, I am a broadway musical fanatic.!! I have watched musicals in LA, SF, New York, and Europe. I have seen "Cats", "Rent" (3 times), "Phantom", "The King and I", "Ms. Saigon" (by the way salonga didn't play the lead in this one), etc. etc. etc. BUT, I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF MS. SALONGA'S MUSICALS!!! I have paid $400 to see "Minelli on Minelli " which was an ONE WOMAN show starring the one and only Liza Minelli ( Judy Garland's daughter!!). What is my case and point!! The fact of the matter is that you are comparing a concert act to a WHOLE MUSICAL PRODUCTION. Fans paid top dollars (i.e. $150 a ticket for first row seat )to see one person and that is REGINE>. In comparison to say $75.00 to see a WHOLE FREAKIN MUSICAL PRODUCTION!!!! To educate you even further, FYI it is not very difficult to put together a musical production in America on Broadway; It is very similar to putting a gig in Vegas nowadays. If you got the "Benjamins" and the connections, I can get you directors, scriptwriters, and the whole damn cast. Furthermore, like seeing a movie in a movie theater, there are also matinee tickets available for broadway musicals. (cheaper than you think!!) Also, if you happen to be a musical fanatic like me, you could be an annual subscriber/sponsor and get discounts to see whatever the hell you want to see. (Money talks!!!) To make a long story short, I would be more than willing to pay top dollars to see Ms. Velasquez performs once again!! So please be civilized and refrain from using those hateful words like "cheap" and "no class" if YOU DO HAVE ANY CLASS OR SOPHISTICATION at all. But the integrety of the award that she has received. Walang kasalanan si Leah dito. I don't even think she cares, she's a Tony awardee for crying out loud. Pero ang complain lang ng mga Regine fans, is that Regine deserves that award a long time ago pa. And that between Leah and Regine, mas deserving si Regine to get that award because lahat ng shows ni Reg are more successful than anyone's. At mas marami syang accomplishments than anyone within a year. Though Leah's show was a success, it cannot even come close sa mga concerts/shows/appearances/movies/etc... na ginawa ni Regine for this year and the last. So how can that be that Leah won that award over Reg? Ok sana kung flop ang lahat ng projects ni Regine, pero all of her projects were all successful too. Ok Leah is good again. But do u think she'll sale that tickets of her concerts locally if she'll be around here the whole year appearing in as much as dozens of concerts in and out of the country. ohhh... btw i saw her concert PICC (on tv) and her rendition of Regine's Songs were...ohhh. i don't wanna go further. ZSA ZSA and KUH have to have a lot of promotions before they get the venue 90% full. and that is KUH AND ZSA ZSA. see... kahit SOP siya ang humahatak. ASAP (ung katapat) andun si MARTIN, ZSA ZSA, GARY V., BITUIN, SHERYN, SARAH, RACHELLE at marami pa. STILL SOP RULES IN RATING. Pag wala si REGINE...sobrang baba ng rating. Regine does more than entertain people. she doesn't flaunt it though I remember the KLASSIK KAYUMANGGI concert where REGINE was a guest. That was an anecdote for me. I rememberd i asked the ticketnet (friday) is there were available tickets pa and they said yes ang dami pa raw vacancies so i said sige sa monday na lang. That time Regine wasn't promoting yet. Pero nung SOP na the folowwig sunday she said briefly she'd be a guest...nung MONDAY ubos na ang ticket.. I wasn't able to come. Regine has talent search show, has SOP and she's the only artist who always a guest in other artist's concerts. U see...para lang obviously mabenta ung concert nung supported artist. DOn't u think she deserves more than....ENTERTAINER AWARD? sa R2K na lang e hindi siya nanalo. ano ipinanlaban ni LANI...ung concert nya sa music museum? uhmmmm thanks to SHANIKWA and to JUN.. u always save me.
