It's Chinese New Year celebration at SOP today. And it's evident that GMA is giving more budget (thus importance) to the show. Last week there was the ati-atihan and this time, dragons roamed the stage.
I normally have lunch during the Campus Front Act so I missed that segment. But I heard during the later part of the show that DLSU was overthrown this time. Sorry, Jack!
The hosts came in with their opening solo number. Reg & Jaya interpreted "You and Me Against the Music". With the way Reg was singing, I thought she wasn't in tip-top shape.
Anyhoo, in the B2B2B portion, the hosts sang OPM hits of last year. Jaya sang "Bakit pa ba?", Ogie did "True", Janno rendered "Let me be the one", and lastly, our Songbird interpreted "Nasan". Quite frankly, I didn't like her version. It doesn't have the usual Reg Magic...
Dove is looking for their next endorser. Ariel, Jay R, Pia, and Regine Tolentino presented the hopefuls.
Jolina looks a lot more like "Vanessa Carlton" with her new hairdo.
Am really glad Ruffa Mae is back in the show. She had her HOT SPOT number with 2 of the Power 4 guys.
Those who didn't make it to StarStruck's final four were invited to the show. With the way they interviewed people, it's so obvious why they didn't win. (Why do I get the feeling that I sound like "Simon" of American Idol?)
In Side by Side by Side, I caught Kyla's number, "Miss Independent". This girl can really sing!!!
There were Chinese astrologists invited and someone told Reg & Jaya to concentrate both on their careers. With Reg, she would find a lover by next year, to which, our Songbird replied, "Ang tagal!" (That's too long!)....
Reg & Ogie promoted their Valentine shows. They now have a November 13th show at the Araneta. Not clear if their Saturday concert in Pampanga got cancelled though. They said that people could "exchange" their Nov. 14th ticket to Friday's. Also, this Tuesday, they will release their new CD, "Songbird and the Songwriter". So, the live CD of the concert didn't push through at all. But now, people can have a taste test...
