the guy up there has good points. i have said this consistently that regine-ogie collaboration has to end. one, two or even three collaborations are enough. for a year of having been "linked" with ogie...some even stirred it up more than musical, had been so dull and very sacrificial for us, fans, who have been expecting the REGINE we had known. Ogie is a good song writer, not better than anyone but just good enough. i am not against ogie or anybody else but, being a huge regine fan, all i care is regine. had she been other artists, with "directionless" artistic collaborations she had for the past couple of years, her laurels could have been stolen. i dunno who's to blame. i used to tell this even before, i never really liked the regine-ogie concert, it sucks. i was seating with a lady and some people inside the araneta and one opened up that they were only there because of regine and not of somebody else, and suprisingly, all of us felt the same thing. me and my friends were really not supposed to go for that MARCH 12 repeat but we felt we needed to support regine coz we'd foreseen the araneta woudn't be full...we were right. needless to say, it was the worst collaboration regine had ever have. see, those who were there would notice that everyone was so hungry of regine's performance. everyone would yell when regine belted. with ogie...the audience were just civil. ogie, however, admitted that, we were there not for him.
martin-regine concert was a bad move though it sold and ogie-regine proved that people think that once is enough. all of us would agree that regine deserves another R2K concert. she's the only singer who could do that...i've seen mariah's concert videos and R2K is better in terms of production and all. (the video coverage is just too poor..tsk tsk). i dont blame ogie but the people around them. we all want something new...something that very regine. she's being used for somebody else's success but only credited a little. we all knew that.
her voice seemed to be strained for a couple of years. i hope the people around her knows about this. please please please...she's not ultra bionic. her performances lately were becoming mediocre but still far better compare with other singers.
another thing, in SOP, she or the staff should choose the song best suit for her, a song that would showcase her talent. lani seemed to be trying hard to showcase hers but still failed and getting the bad impressions from viewers, but that's another story. regine should give some effort practicing the lyrics coz for the past performances...her blunders were pretty obvious. ang i guess, the technique that she's using right now is not very very good. i am just disappointed. i want to hear the voice who sang NARITO AKO and IKAW...a fine but powerful crystal voice. well she still awes me, with her rendition of NARITO AKO in the MARCH 12 repeat minus the KAILANGAN KITA of OGIE. and ung DADALHIN. she'sstill the best that we have now but she's not at her best "REGINE". oh...and the performance at S4AS.
ahhh...what else. what i don now in the office is watching her concert with brian mcknight and listening her mp3s. she could take a rest. her trhone will always be hers.
