I don't think that Regine is keen on pushing for a career in the US. The main thing that is holding her back is the prospect of failing. She's also concerned that once she goes back, there will be no career waiting for her in the Philippines. In her interview in Channel News Asia, Regine reveals that she is afraid to start all over again.

You must remember, that every single Filipino artist that tried it in the US came back here with no career to speak of.

I think that we must reassure Regine that we will still be here even if she fails in the US. I do not expect her to fail, but let's face it, she will be facing an uphill climb if she decides to push it there.

I am not expecting that the Le Grand album will push her career in the US. I just want to see her do albums that have been well conceptualized and well produced. I don't think she can penetrate the American scene. The American music industry is so big...country, jazz, pop, reggae, rap, gospel... She is also running out of time. The thing is most singers here also compose their own music. Regine can't. I don't mean to sound NEGATIVE.
The reality is... in Philippine showbiz, you have to strike and strike while the iron is hot. Have concert every month, have concerts everywhere, have weekly shows, have quickie albums, have movies every 3 months.
The public patronize it anyway...and let the artistry suffer.

That's why when Regine comes back here to perform, she should offer more because she will suffer in comparison.

No doubt, Regine is a gifted singer. Even my patient here (she is Black) liked her. I played her RETRO album while she was receiving treatment and she was amazed how good she is. She compared her to Vanessa Williams (who I don't like) and Christina Aguilera.

And if Regine will really give up the opportunity to work with LeGrand, it will be a big mistake.

Let's see what happens next!

I don't care if you don't think she can make it there. My point is that she should at least try. She is talented and I think she will have a place in the international music scene. But it will take courage on her part to risk her career in the Philippines for that.( As I've said, we should reassure her that she will not lose her career in the Philippines if she pushes for the US)

There were several points in her career when she had the chance to push it in the US, but it did not materialize. I'm beginning to think that she is too scared of failing.(I hope I'm wrong)
