The owner of Star Line Baton, Tyler Crum, spoke to me in the most insulting unprofessional manner about an item missing from my shipped order. After I found an item missing from my order shipment, I contacted the company to learn they were out of stock. I asked for a replacement item and he told me he should just refund everything because I would probably call back and complain about that too. There was much more said but I don't want to inundate this board. His tone was frustrated and curt instead of apologetic and helpful. I don't know a single business owner who has the audacity to speak to his/her customers in this manner. There are too many placed to buy these items to be treated this way. I will tell everyone I know about this experience b/c it is the customers that keep these businesses going and not the other way around. Good service goes a long way.

We are a dance & theatre store in Akron, OH. We do not carry and will not be carrying twirling supplies--however, we do wish to be as helpful as possible to those who call us about any type of performance.

We get a fair number of requests for batons and have no idea what the local source for them might be. Googling this seems to turn up nothing but musical direction batons.

Any ideas on local sources?

My daughter last year took baton/dance lessons at a Beverly Studios in Pearl,MS. This year Beverly's in Pearl isn't teaching baton. However, I wanted her to continue lessons. We tried the Beverly's in Brandon, but the kids are much younger than her. I was wondering if anyone knew of place close to Jackson, MS that she could continue baton lessons. She is 11.

My daughter is trying out for majorette next week and one of the requirements on the tryout sheet is troubling... it says the girls must be able to juggle. JUGGLE? Does this mean something aside from what circus clowns do???? I can understand maybe a feature twirler, but this is for the line girls! Any assistance is appreciated.

Also, does anyone know a good place to buy off-the-rack batons in Huntsville, AL?

Hello! Didn't know where else to post this...
My Son's dad bought a storage unit that had some used baton twirling supplies in it. There are 2 26 inch fire batons with 1 good case and 1 that needs caps, and also a large flint(?) (Please excuse me if I don't quite know the proper names for these items) 2 26 in., and 1 28in. chrome(?)Batons, 2 Samoan knives (26in.), and a gold "I twirl American" bag. They have been well used but are in good shape for practice- which would save your performance gear some wear and tear. I was told that this stuff is in the 450 to 500 range, new. I would say these are mostly in fair condition. The fire batons look to be fairly new(accept for the torch material-which has been used a few times. Dear Coaches, twirlers and parents,

Linda Schick and Ann Durkin are pleased to announce the date and location of the Fifth Annual Fall Festival Pageant and Open Contest. It will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the Evangelical gym in Fort Collins, Colorado.

All contestants must enter on-line. The entry form and all other contest information can be found at: http://annsallstars.org. Follow the link for the Fall Festival Contest.

This is the same gym we have used the previous two Fall Festival contests. Using suggestions from previous contests and in an effort to continually improve our contests, plans are in the works to move the concessions into a room with tables and chairs. This will help eliminate congestion in the hallway and make it much easier to view the awards chart. Also we are looking into adding a separate changing room.

We would love to continue our Fall Festival tradition of bringing in an out of state judge. We can do that if we have enough entries. To aid in our planning, it is extremely important to receive our on-line entries as soon as possible. Payment does not have to be made at the time of entry. All payments and waivers must be postmarked by Oct. 1, to avoid a $20.00 late fee. when I was a kid, I used to twirl and compete. I was pretty good back then, and can still hold my own. But I am 50 now, and need help! I was asked to perform for my grandons Autism center to raise funds! It has been a long time, but have decided to do a light show for them. But it has been a long time since I put a routine together and I need some ideas. I also need a costume! I guess it needs to be white as I am using black lights. I will use a double-flag baton, and a starlite for the show. any advise or help would be very much appreciated!! Thanks!

Visit the Wild West Open Twirling Championships on January 20th at ASU in the Student Recreation Center. Watch boys and girls compete from all over the nation in the unique sport of baton twirling. Want to compete? Email me for an entry. Also, register your child with Arizona State University Feature Twirler Kathryn Donnelly to attend an open “Twirl Day” for beginning students on Sunday, January 21st. New students are welcome to come and learn the skills behind this great sport from some of Arizona’s finest twirlers. Morning instruction will be followed by a performance for the parents at noon. Batons will be provided for the day, just bring your child and get ready for him/her to lead the next parade! Hands-on instruction begins at 9am. Recommended for ages five and up.

i recently moved to the mesa area in arizona, i was in majorettes since the age of five, i was also the captain of my squad during my senior year in high school. i have always loved twirling and teaching. I have decided that it is something i would like to get involved with again if anyone knows where i can find a studio that offers twirling programs or if people in the area need lessons please let me know thank you
