Thought to be long gone, he saw his love go under. Knowing Eokii she would recover quickly, yet no recovery was seen. Then with no hesitation he slid down the ditch and dove in after her. Moving about in the water where she was last seen, he bumped into her. She was pined down by a log that was stuck in the murky mud.
Eokii was helpless and not moving to struggle free. He began digging under her body to free her, only coming up for air once or twice. Taking Eokii by the neck, her lifeless body was pulled free from the watery grave. Hauling her up the ditch he had barely any problem getting up with her additional weight. He placed his head upon her side as they were in level ground to listen for a heart beat, a faint was present. He started to jump on her side to clear her lungs of the water.
