Strong pillars move the beast's form into a slow canter, taking him to the top of a hill crest. Feathered members folded loosely 'pon his spine. Spear glinted in the sun's light. Visage was warm and kind to any friend who saw it. Steed was silent, pondering the past, how it led to the present, and ultimately to the future. Auds swiveled, searching for sounds of a newcomer. The young king snorted, the breath fleeing his flared nostrils. Watching the families here, a smile appeared. Life lived on, as it always would.^*
