Mr Petrucci, or whatever your name is. Isn't it a contradiction to firstly say that Corrupted is unoriginal, then state that the only reason they're popular is because they're the only band of its style in the area?

Thee are lots of great up-&-coming bands around at the moment, all writing their own tunes & lyrics & sounding damn great, Corrupted is one of them. For one thing I think their popularity speaks for itself, as you'd know if, like me, you'd ever stood with any of the band members after a gig and seen how many plecs, drumsticks, autographs etc that they're asked for!

All bands will have influences, and in all music you will hear the influences of other great musicians. This doesn't negate a bands talent or originality. Oasis sounded like the Beatles, that didn't mean they weren't successful.
I suggest that you come back and comment when you're rich and famous after starting up your own never-before-heard brand of music!

Any suggestions for a new name anyone...

Industrial metal...nope, done, darkwave synth...nope, done, punk...nope, done, ska...nope, done....get the picture!!??
