I think that anyone who may be interested in their past lives should not investigate purely out of couriosity.
First of all, you may not be too happy with what you find. Many, including myself, have been quite shocked and even horrified with the attitudes and activities of past egos.

I have been regressed once. I was absolutely numb with reproach and anger for that person that I found. I found that I was a pretty horrible person at that time. My motivations were shallow and self-serving. People died as a result of these motivations.

I had to digest the idea that this was part of me. It was not easy. Understanding that what we may consider to to be good AND bad, make up our whole selves, is important. If we come to the understanding that at a a specific time, we did specific things which were not agreeable to us now, then we should apply this understanding toward not making the same mistake this time around. We must remember that all things are purposeful, including mistakes which we may have made in the past.
