Do you see the connection, Rebecca (after reading Michele and Robin's replies)? I think that many, perhaps even most of us, who speak of spirit guides and "light and love" are essentially referring to what may be called the Christ-Light... and what did Jesus live and teach but Love! And, if you believe that your guide is in service to Christ, all the better to be in-touch with him... don't you think?

Does it really matter so much if Jesus' name is specifically mentioned, when His message is at the heart?? We are not so far apart as you think... I don't think!
