I do not know the details... but I am pretty sure the students eventually paid for it through their fees... However, it's possible that the Foundation fronted money via a loan. But, I'd think they'd have zero financial liability and probably made money off interest.

But thinking back..., wasn't there a 1/3rd, 1/3rd, 1/3rd deal agreement whereas CP contributed, students, and the Foundation contributed equally. Or was one of the original partners suppose to be the City and they backed out?

Either way, I do not believe the Foundation would enter into an agreement without seeing some return. They are not there to donate money..., they are an exclusive on campus business. Their objective is to grow money. If athletics is a wise investment for them..., then I would think they'd consider it then.
