Subject: Things are moving along
In reply to: Stangman 's message, "Re: I'm in......" on 08/20/03 12:21pm

Well...., things seem to be moving along in a positive direction. I haven't checked my hotmail email accnt yet... and chances are I will not be able to respond 'til later this evening, but I thought I'd at least indicate that I am still here.

All-in-all, the costs seem reasonable..., and certainly worth the value in the enjoyment of discussing Cal Poly sports...., or other miscellaneous topics.

I am all for a front page or fan site that appears seemless with a board. A couple times over the past couple years I have checked out ISP rates for hosting and what names are available. I think I even considered registering www.polynation.com at one time, but it may have already been taken (then). I don't recall. Of course, I'd also have other intentions for a website..., the only problem is dedicating time & energy.

I think moving over to the ezBoards is the best move right now. Being listed with the other schools (UCI, Long Beach, Fullerton, to name a few) would probably increase traffic to the levels it was a few years ago. I have the perception it was busier in the past, anyway. The ezBoard organization and their boards also seem very stable relative to what we've seen in the past.

And yes, I have been around at least 4 years. Maybe longer? 6? Stangman, Budman, Colt, seem to have been around as long too. Nostalgically speaking (but not romantic!), I recall the first fan site for Poly. It had a background of a basketball court with a list of links. The message board to that must have been 3 or 4 iterations ago!
