Big kudos to Garrett Olson, the frosh lefty from Fresno. Olson is 3-0 and has apparently earned a spot in the starting rotation. A bright spot of late on the pitching staff, Garrett is reportedly majoring in aerospace engineering. I checked with a coach (of another sport) at Buchanan High and he says Garrett is a fine young man, in addition to being a very good pitcher. Garrett took his no-hitter through 7 1/3 Friday and was pulled due to a pre-determined pitch count. His 7 1/3 innings were especially critical in that the team was playing back-to-back doubleheaders. HUGE performance. Way to go Garrett.
