Northern California is not pursued when recruiting. I am a little suprised but yet happy for this kid that he got some notice, however it's my belief there are possibly a number of quality kids like him each year up there - particularly in the larger school leaques.

The North Section is essentially northern Sacramento Valley and bounded by the Nevada and Oregon borders. The largest cities are Chico and Redding - each about 100k in pop. Enterprise High is one of 3 or 4 high schools in Redding. Neither Chico or Redding prep sports are covered in the press by the Sacramento Bee or Sacramento news stations. Why...? Probably because the NSCIF does not include Sacramento area high schools and there is no reason to cover the area. This leads to an information vacumm on what's going on in the North Section because no one promotes their athletes or their accomplishments up there.

With all that said... I do think there will be change. particularly becasue of the internet.
