Rumor had it that King left the University for academic reasons. While a student, he was listed in the Basketball Team Press Guide as majoring in Computer Science which at Cal Poly is a brutal course of study. Unless the guy was a genius, it would seem impossible to balance between the rigorous course load of Comp Sci and play basketball.

However, the press guide stated that he had also been recruited by one of the military academies, so it seemed he might have a chance academically. Guess not.

Last heard, King transferred to Cuesta Junior College in San Luis Obispo with the expectation of returning to Cal Poly. Since then, he's disappeared from the radar screen.
