Subject: Re: Div. I-A opponents is common among Div. I-AA

Guess they saved money by taking the tent down early. It's too bad they couldn't rent it out for use by a small circus.

Why is Div. I-A Texas El Paso of the WAC any tougher than Toledo of the MAC? Last year UTEP was 2-10, (1-7 in the WAC).

Gary Nord's Miners two wins were against Sac State 42-12 and Rice 38-35. They were shutout in Oklahoma by both the Sooners (0-68) and Tulsa (0-20). But they did give Nevada and SMU good games before falling 17-23 and 35-42 respectively. They did lose at San Jose State 23-58, but the Spartans also beat Illinois last fall at Champaign. (They didn't play Fresno State last season).

Other Div. I-AA schools play Div. I-A opponents, why should Cal Poly be any different? Some examples from last season:

Eastern Washington at Arizona State
Idaho State at Utah State
Montana at Idaho
Montana State at Washington State
Northern Arizona at Arizona
Portland State at Oregon
Sacramento State at UTEP
Weber State at New Mexico

Illinois State at Purdue
Indiana State at Western Michigan and Ball State
Northern Iowa at Oklahoma State
SW Missouri State at Kansas
Western Kentucky at Kansas State

Florida A&M at Miami

Eastern Illinois at Hawaii and Kansas State
Eastern Kentucky at Oregon State
Murrary State at Memphis
Tennessee Martin at Arkansas State
Tennessee Tech at Bowling Green and Iowa State

Colgate hosted Villanova
Holy Cross at Army

Appalachian State at Marshall
Chattanooga at West Virginia
The Citadel at LSU and Wyoming
East Tenn. State at North Carolina State
Furman at Vanderbilt
Western Carolina at Auburn
Wofford at Maryland

Jacksonville State at Mississippi State
McNeese State at Nebraska
Nicholls State at North Texas
Northwestern State at Georgia
Sam Houston State at Central Michigan
SW Texas State at Minnesota

Florida Atlantic at South Florida
Samford at Baylor

Check the composite schedule in your Cal Poly football program, it gives the running score of all of your opponent's schedules.
