Memorial does look bad on TV, but there really isn't anything that can be done about it. It's designed to be a stage, and there isn't any way to translate it onto TV well. My only possible suggestions would be to lower where they set up the main camera to the second level (although it would cut capacity, so they probably won't do it) and maybe paint the whole out of bounds area black (like Minnesota, which has a similar raised floor...but not as much space I think).

I still want them to rip those stupid suites out of the A-E sections, pu the media back up by the ceiling, and ge tthe capacity back to 15,626. The atmosphere created by the noise would help us fill up some of the seats again.

Those sidelines are important so that no one falls off into the crowd, or the concrete floor.

Why not jazz up the old pressbox to be very luxurious? I bet the media members would love that more than being crammed in with the loud students. The ones on the ends have Maniacs standing up and jumping right beside them. The media could have a quieter, nicer environment to think and write upstairs in their old pressbox.

Other numbers, I don't know the actual student attendance but in most cases I wouldn't think it even comes close to 25%, but then again ours doesn't either most of the time. But I had to use your own numbers against you.

Undergrads 25%

Texas - 38,609 - 9,650
UNC - 25,480 - 6,370
Maryland - 25,240 - 6,310
Duke - 6202 - 1,550 (Actual attendance 1500 because that is the cap.)
Arizona - 34,000+ - 8,500
Oklahoma - 22,661 - 5,665
Pittsburgh - 32,000+ - 8,000

Florida- 46,515 - 11628
Georgia- 24,010 - 6002
Kentucky - 34,182 - 8,545
Miss State - 15,764 - 3941

I realize now that I didn't include many private schools purely by accident. So here are a few from the top 25 but I am tired now

Notre Dame - 8,208 - 2,052
Wake Forest - 4,080 - 1,020
Marquette - 7.500 -
Xavier - 3,952 - 988

Now I really don't have any idea, but I would guess that student attendance totals are not nearly up to 25% at most any school, except for the top programs in the country. We are not a top program so I think this attendance is very good.

By the way, we aren't non-paying students. Cliche: If it weren't for the students there wouldn't be a university.
