As Pismo Dave correctly points out, as the guards go, so too go the Mustangs. We know Varnie will get his and Shane should get his, but the wildcard is whether the guards are getting good looks on kick outs from the post and whether they are hitting their shots, being aggressive, etc. EJ rang up a big 0 and the others couldn't hit water if they fell out've a friggin' boat.

This team had the opportunity to really build on the fabulous road work last week. We pissed away the outstanding effort of last week with yet another home loss to yet another team with a sub .500 BWC record. The unfortunate part of losing 2 of 5 at home to two mid-level BWC teams is the psychological advantage we were starting to generate between this year and last at home is gone. No longer will teams come in to Mott already beaten. They'll be like we are when we go to Fullerton, we think we've got a good shot at a win there most years.

Killer instinct? The team either doesn't have it, or they truly had an off night Thursday. This was our chance to firmly establish our team as one deserving of an upper tier finish in the BW. We could've/should've reeled off four straight wins when combined with the LBSU and UCI wins last week. Instead, perhaps the team with as much depth and talent as any in the conference dwells with the also-rans of a weak conference.

Is it Bromley's fault? Well the killer instinct starts with the coach, but the players have to execute. Was he monkey-fudging with the lineup too much? Maybe, but this team is deep enough that the "young men" could have responded.

Let's go get 'em tomorrow night.
