Subject: why so much anti-semitism?...

although i'm a catholic, i'm very encouraging of other beliefs and ideas...the fact that i'm not Jewish, though, makes it hard for me to defend my Jewish friends when they arent there to defend themselves. i'm embarrassed to ask them certain questions about the reasons for anti-semitism so maybe you guys can help me. occasionally my roommates will make anti-semitic comments that include the whole "they're stealing our jobs" and "they're all tightwads" arguments. i've made my case against them well but i dont know what to say when they make commments about the Jews controlling CNN and various other news corps. they say that CNN especially has Jewish biases when reporting and they use the news to further their networking. maybe i'm clueless but i dont see it...nor can i refute it. can someone explain to me why they are saying this and how to prove their ideas incorrect? thank you
