ДМИТРИЙ ЛИТВИНОВИЧ: АФГАНИСТАН УКАЗАЛ АМЕРИКАНЦАМ НА ДВЕРЬ

Афганистан потребовал от Соединенных Штатов прекратить воздушные бомбардировки, поскольку все укрепленные пункты талибов и Усамы бен Ладена на территории страны уже разрушены, передает корреспондент РИА «Новости».
Соответствующее заявление представителя министерства обороны Афганистана Мохаммада Хабиля распространили в пятницу индийские СМИ.
По его словам, временное правительство Афганистана требует от США прекратить бомбардировки, так как «поставленная цель достигнута». Без разрешения местных властей и министерства обороны страны США больше не должны наносить бомбовые удары по Афганистану по своему усмотрению, добавил он.
Хабиль также отметил, небольшая численность американских войск в Афганистане позволяет вывести их с территории страны в течение трех дней.
У американцев, похоже, другое мнение по этому вопросу. Вашингтон считает, что антитеррористическая операция в Афганистане не будет закончена пока Бен Ладен, не схвачен или убит.
Не далее как неделю назад министр обороны США Дональд Рамсфелд заявил, что распорядился отправить в Афганистан сотни военнослужащих, которые вместе со своими местными союзниками будут обшаривать пещеры в труднодоступном горном районе Тора Бора в поисках боевиков «Аль-Каиды» и, разумеется, самого Усамы бин Ладена, а также документов с данными о прошлых и, главное, грядущих терактах.
Сотрудники Пентагона называли уже конкретную цифру: по их словам, уже в прошлые выходные должна была начаться переброска в Афганистан 500 морских пехотинцев. Но потом военные дали задний ход и снова возложили свои надежды на афганских союзников, энтузиазм которых будет подогрет американскими деньгами, оружием и зимней одеждой.
Но после сегодняшних заявлений афганского руководства о переброске дополнительного воинского контингента придется забыть. Пентагон решил, что присутствие большой группы солдат будет слишком мозолить афганцам глаза в том районе страны, где сильны антиамериканские настроения.
Тем более что присутствие американских морских пехотинцев на территории Афганистана должно быть чем-то обосновано: например поисками Бен Ладена и других лидеров движения «Талибан». А так как нет реально подтвержденной информации, что он все еще находится на территории Афганистана, то нет и смысла в присутствии американцев.
Для временного правительства Афганистана впрочем, как и для Исламабада, информация о том, что Бен Ладен скрывается на их территории - это лишняя головная боль. Поэтому они и отфутболивают Бен Ладена друг другу, запуская в прессу информацию о том, что террорист №1 скрывается на территории соседней страны. Тем более что при таком раскладе сил американские морпехи могут находиться на территории их стран практически бесконечно.

DMITRY LITVINOVICH: AFGHANISTAN IS SHOWING THE USA TO THE DOOR

Afghanistan demanded the USA should stop the air bombing, since all Osama bin Laden and Taliban’s points had already been destroyed, RIA Novosti informed. The Indian mass media distributed the adequate statement, which was made by the spokesman for the Afghanistanian Defense Minister, Mohammad Habil.

Habil in particular said that the provisional government of Afghanistan demanded the USA should stop the bombing, since “the goal had been executed.” The USA should not strike Afghanistan’s territory without the permission from the local authorities and the defense ministry. Habil also marked that a small quantity of the American troops in Afghanistan could allow to withdraw them from the territory of the country within the period of three days.

The Americans seems to have a different attitude to the issue. Washington believes that the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan was not going to be over until Bin Laden is either seized or killed.

Donald Rumsfeld, the US Defense Secretary has recently claimed that he ordered to dispatch hundreds of the military men to Afghanistan for searching for the al-Qaeda gunmen and of course, Osama bin Laden himself, in the caves of the Tora Bora area. The soldiers will also be looking for the documents about the past and future acts of terrorism.

The Pentagon has already came out with a certain number: they said, about 500 marines would be dispatched to Afghanistan. But then the military men stepped back and laid their hopes to their Afghanistanian allies, whose enthusiasm was going to be warmed up with the American money, weapons and winter clothes. The idea pertaining to the deployment of another military contingent will have to be forgotten after today’s statements from the Afghanistan’s administration. The Pentagon decided that the presence of a small group of soldiers would be an eyesore to the Afghan people in those parts of the country, where the people had the anti-American sentiments. Furthermore, the presence of the American marines on the Afghanistan’s territory should be substantiated with someone: like, for example, searching for Bin Laden and other Taliban’s leader. But as long as there is no confirmed information, saying he is still in Afghanistan, then there is no need in the American presence.

The information that Bin Laden is hiding in Afghanistan is another headache for the provisional government of Afghanistan, as well as for Islamabad. That is why they keep saying from time to time that Bin Laden was hiding both in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
