Whew. New Years party over. Not as many people showed up as I'd expected, but there were still around 20 people mulling about the apartment. There were no drunken rumblings, no funny hookups, just people having a good time talking and drinking and eating cheese.

Heavy on the drinking and eating of cheese.

I somehow managed to get to the new years Poekoelan class by noon the next day. I knew that if I worked out and sweated all the alcohol out of my system I'd feel so much better. We did a whole bunch of breathing excercises, something that kevin is working into a whole class this spring. I felt kinda sorry for the other band members who had to smell the cigs and scotch evaporate out of my system. But I was right, after an hour I felt tip-top. jonr, who I dragged to gig as well, reluctantly agreed that it could be advertised as a miracle hangover cure. I'll have to mention that to kevin when he starts doing advertising about the band.

It's really great to see the new band come together. jon and I were over there last weekend at 8am painting the damn ceiling. No one showed up to help so I was up on the 2-story scaffolding all friggin day with the sprayer. We painted about 2500 sq ft - the whole damn building - with primer and one layer of paint. ben white is preeeety after inhaling fumes all day. When I went to bed that night I was dizzy - like when you're on a boat all day and you get on land and you feel like you are still on a boat. Scaffolding sickness? I have serious empathy for Michelangelo
