Jan,
You don't need to redo everything. You can get 960 more points just by rerunning from June 2491. 16 estates should be 8 companies of horsemen. Send each one to plunder Taras in Jun 2491. They will each return with 4,000 drachma in December 2491 as 4 or 5 horseman companies. Immediately send them to plunder Taras again. Don't wait until they march back to the estates. These will return in June 2490 as 2 horseman companies. Send them out plundering again right away. This way you will get 24 lots of 4,000. Some estates may devolve (and I know that isn't good to watch after struggling to build them) but the extra poits more than compensate.

If you have tiremes you can get even more by using them to plunder Calydon. Note that they come back mangled and need to be repaired. So allow 2 months extra between plundering runs for tiremes.

Regarding olives, Taras will continue to grant until 4 months after dispatching your first plunder (ie: until October 2491). Sparta's mood is not affetced by any of this and so will continue to grant as before.

If you wanted to replay building Athena the layout I would recommend is, I think, the one that Sharon suggested:
Hades rotated and positioned in the southeast corner. Put it as far over as possible but make sure you leave room for a road round the southeast corner (so Hades can get to your mints). The estate block is built along the southwest and northwest sides of the sanctuary. Its just a linear block with estates right next to the sanctuary, then a boulevard then more estates. With Aphrodites sanctuary there is no problem with these evolving to estates. The biggest challenge I found was getting horses in quick enough and I actually had several common agoras to do this.

Athena is rotated and positioned in the far northeast corner. Again make sure there is room for a road round the southeast corner (so Athena can get to your olive presses).

First time round I built Hades first, then Aphrodites, then Athena. Now I am redoing with Athena before Aphrodites. This time I will have lots more horse ranches and armories -probably 9 of each if I can fit them in - because I intend to do lots of plundering!

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Mike
