Hi. My name is crystal. I have a 7 (turning 8 the end of the month)yr old son. On July 27th of this year, the worse thing I could imagine happened to our family. Our son tried to light an incense burner and his shirt caught fire. He suffered 23% of his body being burned, 21% was grafted. My husband had just left for work, and I was changing out pj's upstairs. It wasn't like he was playing with fire so to speak, he just wanted to make the house smell better since we had been gone for 2 weeks on vacation and the house had been closed up.

He has to be massaged 3 times a day, needs constant PT so the scar band doesn't limit his range of motion, wears pressure garments, and over all handles things more maturely then I thought a kid his age could.

So if he can handle this, and he is, why is it I want to act like nothing has happened? Why am I now not wanting to do this anymore? Is something wrong with me?
