The point being made (in the above first post in this thread) is about bias censorship and the loss of free expression caused by individuals who think they are acting on behalf of God. The truth is they are not acting Christ like at all, Christ never censored any one. In the bible God never hid from us the true feeling, thoughts, and complaints against Him or others from us. They were all openly dealt with for all mankind to see, be they good or bad.
But in fact some Christians are trying to control others according to their own religious beliefs, opinions, and moral standards and that's the point being made here.
This is how it works.... Take so called Slander on a Christian message board:
A Christian points out a false Christian teacher. Ignorant most often Liberal Christians and or the followers of such a teacher cry slander. They then delete, edit and or ban the Christian pointing out the error. I think you get the idea.
What about when the words turn harsh:
If you feel someone has slandered, gossiped, or told a unfounded half truth about you, it should be addressed openly not deleted and swept under a rug as if nothing has happened.
The message board group of people as a whole should work together in correcting and exhorting an offender who has done real slander or sin.... Cooler heads will prevail and most often apologies will be given from people on all sides. That's the nature of message boards.
This process causes growth and repentance in offender and brings about real change in ALL parties involved to Gods Glory. Editing, Deleting and Banning does nothing to bring about real growth, its really a unloving and cowardly act that only drives people away, both the good and bad. As I or we have witnessed on the other UCFM message board.
The following is what a "Christian" TOS should look like in maintaining a civil message board. Much more (besides copyright rules....) would only do harm.
Terms of Service
1) Please do not spam the board (more than 3 new threads in a row by the same poster will be considered spam, and may be deleted or moved). It is okay to post more than 3 times in a row, just don't start a new thread for every new post.
2) Posts not keeping to the topic of the Message Board or thread may be deleted.
3) Posts containing foul words, and vile statements in the title or author field will be deleted.
4) Posts containing links to harmful and immoral material will be deleted.
5) Posts containing severe personal attacks may be removed, or they may be left there depending on how offensive the post is.
Most people don't like censorship. There may be times when an offensive post is left on the board so everyone else will see what that poster is really like.
Please Note:
“ If you are bothered by any particular poster/member,
THEN DON’T READ THEIR POSTS.“
6) Posts making false claims about, and lying about members or any religious group will or maybe deleted.
7) Posts expressing a desire for the harm or death of anyone who posts here will be deleted.
8) The UCFM admins are not always right. If you have any disagreements with any of the rules, or objection about a deleted post/s you are welcome to post your disagreement openly on the Miscellaneous Message Board, or email the admins at ----@---.com
