From what I read, the execs at Nick just hated his character.

I didn't say "contract" if I typed that, my bad. I said "content" after 9-11. Of course things became more sensitive after that, and supposedly, since Zim wasn't a piece of Klasky-Csupo sappy 100% Grade A USDA Approved CRAP and actually took a few risks, Nick didn't want to deal with it because(here comes the sarcasm) Zim was obviously going to turn the impressionable minds of the viewers into, to coin a phrase, homicidal maniacs.
