香港的教育制度，若想走回頭路已是不可能，因為：
1. 經濟模式的轉變——香港的經濟已不再倚靠工業，香港社會已不再需要技工。現今世界的經濟發展趨勢是全球一體化，講求國際分工——故此課程必須改革。
2. 取用知識方法的轉變——現今資訊發達，取用知識的方法眾多，學生求知識不再單靠老師的傳授——故此老師的角色必須改變。
3. 運用知識方法的轉變——不再單靠死記硬背，更需要懂得運用知識的方法和培養運用知識的能力——故此教學方法必須改變。
4. 政治形勢的轉變——九七回歸，女皇御賜給香港大學畢業生的金飯碗已不復存在，香港大學生的競爭對手已由只來自香港擴展至來自全國，甚至來自全世界，——故此學生對前途的眼界必須擴闊。
今天辦學，絕對不是一件易事！別人不理解，胡亂批評，那可不打緊，但從事教育工作的人士則絕對不能含糊啊！
