若要論及創意思維，我想我們定須談談有關「多元智能Multiple Intelligence」的學說。
1983年，美國哈佛大學教授Howard Gardner認為：
一、傳統對智能的定義過於狹窄，不單是一種「智能商數Intelligence Quotient」可以反映，而是至少有七種智能；
二、這七種智能代表每個人有七種潛能，各有價值；
三、各種不同組合的潛能，造成每個人在智能上有個別的差異及獨特的潛能和專長；
四、每種智能均可培養、學習和加強。
至於提及到的七種多元智能，分別為：1.語言Linguistic（聽、講、讀、寫、理解）、2.數理邏輯Logical-mathematical（數字、計算、邏輯分類）、3.空間Spatial（視覺效果、形象化思維、顏色、方向感）、4.身體動覺Bodily-kinesthetic（動手能力、運用身體語言表達、舞蹈、體育運動）、5.音樂Musical（聲音辨識、節奏、旋律、創作與欣賞）、6.人際Interpersonal（分工合作、互相分享、欣賞、了解他人、與人相處）及7.知己內省Intrapersonal（憶起往事、引發個人感受、自制自勵、選擇）。後人又加上8.自然觀察Naturalist（對大自然的關注、認知、關懷及欣賞）這種智能，故綜合而言，多元智能大體上可分成以上八個範籌。
或許，從以上資料所示，我們也可更了解和認識自己，就著自己的性向和擁有的智能優勢，再進行培養、學習和加強。淺談至此，有機再續。
