Gliding in on the evening waves, a sleek and solitary figure broke the surface of the sea and shook pearls of water from her midnight hair. With a dolphin's grace, she swam into the warm shallows in a trail of silver ripples. Her stay would not be long, if she found the one she sought- the one whose name she did not know but names were not her purpose. Against the gentle sands she settled and sat back to look out to the ocean expanse. From the lapping shallows she drew the delicate tail, the veil of fins reflecting moonlit pearl, and with no discomfort the scaled flesh divided into two and took the shape of human limbs. Bare and bronze in the open evening air, she drew a wispy wrap from the warm waters but made no move to drape the thin material around her shoulders. Her time was short, but the rare perspective from the foreign beaches was enough to hold her briefly capitivated and gave her time to adjust to the strange limbs before moving on with her mission.
