Halting his march finally as the dawn broke coral and lavender over the unfamiliar landscape, the pale creature sought out a lush nest of grass at the foot of a tree and settled gracefully down to ease weary feet. How far had he traveled? The fine-boned chest rose and fell in a delicate sigh as the ivory figure lounged peacefully under the rich canopy of summer-green leaves. His homeland was far from here, unimaginably distant, but the fair youth rested untroubled. Indeed, he had spent more time alone in solitary wandering than his apparent years suggested and he studied his new surroundings with an innocent interest veiled in immortal calm. Perhaps here he could find the companionship he had been seeking...
