In reply to: Yankee 's message, "ESPN article mentions Marist as a possible at large-good info on other teams" on 17:48:02 03/02/09 Mon

I saw Vandy play a bit the day they were suppossed to be showing the Marist-Hartford game. They reminded me a LOT of our Kresge led teams. Smooth shooters inside and a point guard that looks to pass and the defense lays off defending her shot.

for a change. Its taken a while but they've seem to have turned a corner in the perception game. Nothing works like winning, especially when one of them was covered by ESPN2. Still, I don't think they want to leave their fate up to a committee. Just win the tournament and earn a decent seed.

Pretty tough bracket for the Ladies in Albany. Canisius is catching a break with Siena or a wobbly FF squad over either the St. Peter's or Iona squads Marist will have to face. Would like to see Marist be able to rest their starters more than usual in the second half on Friday, especially Viani and Allenspach. They will need their "shooters" legs fresh on Saturday and hopefully Sunday.

Even though those people don't really care about womens basketball because they kinda stink at it:), I am sure the place would have a decent crowd in the center seats because of the all session passes the season ticket holders have. Plus, they played us tough up there this year.

no team leader has been as pointed in her comments about marist as Stec has. She was quoted in the TU as saying they are "human just like us" and no opposing star has had as miserable a pair of games against Marist as she has this year. Castelli seems to cringe when someone utters Marist. They are great competitors and would give anything for another shot this year. Unfortunately, FF seems to be an awful match-up, and Canisius is on a tear. Getting to the finals is a tall order for the Lady Saints.
