If you are ranked 26th with an RPI of 36 and 29 wins - my guess is like Siena we end up with a 9th seed - cuz if they get an 11th or 12th seed - and I was the coach of the 4th or 5th seed that had to face us in round 1 I'd be like damn that sucks we open up against a top 25 team for all intensive purposes

Jerry Palm still refuses to give Marist anything higher than a 12 seed. He has us up against SD State in Chattanooga. Charlie Creme still has us as an 11 against Notre Dame. The heading says Albequerque, but that is incorrect. That game would be at Notre Dame. He mistakenly lists Albequerque twice.

Yankee, all first round match-ups have to total 17, i.e. 1 vs. 16, 2 vs.15 etc. There is no way that two double digit seeds meet in the first round. (LOL)

I still think we may be surprised by our seed this year. We got a 7 last year and won. Usually if you make it back and have been succesful they give you a nice respect boost. We are in the periphery of the top 25, why can't we get a 6 seed? Why can't we? WHY CAN'T WE?

because the committee sucks, just like the men's committee. Did you see that pompous ass on TV last night saying that they don't take conference affilliations into account? Horse Hockey they don't!! Only four non power conference at-large bids? If Cleveland State had not beaten Butler, they'd be on the outside looing in, and most likely Penn State would have been the 8 Big 10/11 team in, and there would only have3 been 3 mid-major at large bids.

only one tournament participant, Oklahoma, a loss, on the schedule. Neither BU or Hartford are dancing since faltering in the AE tournament.
Base on RPI and SOS from Palm they deserve an 11, even though he has them at 12.
He has matched a lot of mids ensuring that some of them will make it to the second round. Who knows if the committee will see that through. A matchup vs. South Dakota would be very interesting. Tournament tested old Marist vs. this year's mid-major darling and new kid on the block. ;-)

I say that no more than six teams from any conference should get into the tournament. I don't care what conference you're in, if you're only the seventh best team in that conference, there is a mid-major second place team somewhere that can kick your ass.

"extra" seed will go to mid rather than the 4th team from another big conference. I like that because it makes a dent in the SOS argument being used for justifying the 7th and 8th power conference rep. We all know the "difficulties" mids have in scheduling up games against mid level majors. The cap might give some mid level majors an incentive to take on a top mid to win a head to head that would set them apart come tournament seeding time. Could have really helped a Niagara or St. Mary's this year.
