Absolutely pathetic. I almost wanted to walk out in protest with 12 minutes to go. Different between Marist and an actual division 1 basketball team is those teams can finish around the basket. Thank god the crowd was so small as I kicked my feet out of frustration at least 10 times. Someones back would have been really hurt if there was anyone at the game. Schneider does not deserve to play with guys who are so afraid of contact. How does this team beat Niagara and play Siena so well at home and look like this lately? It was so quiet at the game that you could hear the ball clang off the rim constantly.
Random observations:
-Schneider is asked to do too much and when he dribbles he turns it over quite a bit.
-Bauer is coming around offensively
-Williams hands continue to be like a rock, but he acts like, "oh well" and walks back down the court. He needs to show some anger with himself.
-Parris did nothing again, needs to get back to being a good rebounder and defender
-Think you will hear Taylor may miss a game or two. He was coughing real bad during timeouts, probably has the flu bug.
-Manhattan good perimeter D, shut down the dribble drive from Devezin and Hall.
-Chris Rock killed us in the first half.
-I really like #12 on Manhattan, forgetting his name.
I sat right near where the Marist womens team watched the game. Fitz and Viani are absolutely gorgeous. Viani, I believe it was her at one point leaned back to observe the game. That was the only thing worth the 20 bucks for the two tickets.
Congrats to Manhattan fans.

One other thing, Martin really showed anger with his team at the 7:00 timeout with Manhattan up 49-40 I believe. He slammed his drawing board twice. First time I had seen that.

I agree with all the above points. I need to add though how disappointed I am with the play of Goodwin and Parris. In my opinion those two are the reasons we can never get over the hump. I know Hall had a dreadful game, but he's up and down. I know Williams has rock hands but that's something we all knew and know will never change...Williams and rock hands is a given...but Goodwin and Parris were both solid role players in the offense early on and their play recently is just reeking, awful, putrid.

Here are the facts...
Goodwin's last 10 games:
26.5 mpg, 5.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.1 apg, 26% FG, 44% FT, 23% 3PT

Parris' last 11 games:
19.4 mpg, 4.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.9 apg, 29% FG, 56% FT

Parris and Goodwin are a combined 32-118 from the field over the last 10 games, 17-34 from the line and 13-47 from 3.

I really hope CM is using these painful games to gauge his team next year. I understand that upper classmen often get a chance but is there any Marist fan out there that wants to see the above two guys playing over Prescott, Rusin, Carter and Alexis?? A team should only play 9-10 guys max so 3-4 players on next years team will not make the rotation and in my opinion I think I've seen enough to say Parris, Voyuoukas and Goodwin are the guys I want sitting out.

On a positive note Bauer has looked good since he got the well deserved starting role.

Small sample but in the three games he's averaging 10.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 56% FG.

You would think he would get embarrassed that he literally gets stripped of the ball 80 percent of the time. Its hilarious. I swear the other team sometimes lets him get the rebound and waits to knock it out of his hands. Then he is like, "Oh guyyyyyyyyys". Marist needs to do a practice exercize where they have him go through a gauntlet of players holding brooms trying to whack his hands to get the ball away. Maybe that will improve his concentration at grasping the ball. It is just rediculous that a D1 player can't hold a freaking ball.

Yeah Williams is a turnover waiting to happen. The broom exercise sounds reasonable. What did you think of Alex Voyoukas' two FG attempts? A couple solid open 1 footers missed. I'm sorry..I don't care if he's just a Freshman he is TERRIBLE. No growth. He's making the same mistakes he made in games 1-5. Where did Gerald Carter transfer to in D-2??? We have another potential recruit for those guys. Vouyokas, Carter, Vucajnik...we've gotten some gems recently...I'll even add Parris to that list for his unbelievably bad offensive play. I wish Parris had rock hands so he could never catch the ball to shoot.

I'm with you on all counts RedFox5.. We've got Devezin, Kaba, and Drummond. Bauer is coming on.. Vouyokas, Williams, Goodwin and Parris are going to have trouble getting time over the kiddie corps. Carter will be able to step right in and play. Hall is a very good player. Probably just hitting the freshman "wall". Williams should be a 10-15 minute player. You just can't shoot so poorly from the field and line. Turnovers galore. Man , I miss Stilphen. He didn't get enough credit for his work. He never missed layups.

Thanks for the recap, I only saw the score on ESPN. ouch. Especially with Fitz and Viani comment, haha. Having been in the band for the last four years, being around the women's team for various tournaments and games made for some great scenery.

Yeah, I have never seen such a "hands" problem with a player. He can jump out of the gym so you know they're going to try to fix him. One thing I have yet to hear is that Vouyoukas is totally lost on the court. He has a great body and runs the floor well bt I can not see what McKillop and Chuck saw in him. He shows zero confidence out there. He never gets a look from the other players. The issue is he's one of Chucks guys. That fact is a glaring problem.

Big guys usually take a while to develop. Vouyoukas will not be as good as Rossiter, but as an example, Rossiter stunk last year for the most part. This year he is 100 percent better.

just a depressing game overall...they are pathetic when dave is not 100%. RJ, Dejuan, Javon all did nothing in over 15 minutes each. At least four or five failed fast breaks, and the free throws are possibly the must frustrating thing, 12-23..really? also a poor crowd but it was a monday night game... after the past few weeks i'm close to losing complete faith..

Hey Yankee FYI Providence offered Rossiter a full ship if he would go to Prep School last year. Fran was smart enought to see his up side and offered an immediate ship. He did prep last year but at Siena and you have to live with him for the next two years as well as Ubiles, Franklin, Moore (next year)plus Jackson, Downey, Wingnot and an outstanding incoming recruiting class.

Should be fun, as next year's Marist team will be very different than this year's edition.

Next years team will be the most improved team in the MAAC. I think everyone on here will agree with that.

She's a cutie... I think it's great how they band together.
They give the men's team support. Gotta admit, they might have other plans if the fellas don't play better than last night.
