Certainly like the way Schneider fought back today. He had a putrid shooting game but still managed to go for 21 pts, 11 reb...that's what good players do. He made most of the shots that counted down the stretch and all of his FT's. It would have been nice to have his jumper at the regulation buzzer fall but it fell off...what are you gonna do.
Bauer played solid today, LB had a good game in the post but 4-10 FT's is not acceptable, especially in a 1 pt loss. That ruined his day.
Gregory was a bit off today. Devezin played better but missed alot of mid range jumpers down the stretch and that's pretty much it.
The above guys are the team.
We continue to get nothing out of Hall, Goodwin, Parris, Taylor and Vouyoukas. Taylor is a walk-on, a lightly used role player at best so he gets a pass. The other guys though....
I still really like Hall. He's going to have a nice career but 3.4 ppg and 1.0 apg in 22 mpg over the last 5 games...seriously??? Is this chalked up to that f-ing "wall".
I don't want to hear the word "wall" anymore. They said during the game today that Parris, Goodwin, Hall and Vouyoukas all had hit a wall at various moments of the broadcast...this doesn't seem to happen to other teams players so much. Parris and Goodwin all have a full season of CB under their belts for God's sake. Vouyoukas plays what 5 mpg? He should be fresh! With Hall I could see him dragging if he was being asked to play 30-35 minutes in his first year but he's only out there for 22 mpg. The freshman from other teams who even play more have not seemed to hit that "wall". Remember Gavin hit the "wall" last year too along with Goodwin as well. Maybe our strength and conditioning program needs a look.
Speaking of Vouyoukas...hello Division II. He contributed a ball through his hands, a travel, a foul and a missed 5 footer...solid again.
Goodwin and Parris...7 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist in 52 minutes. Both of their number continue to plummet. Parris had one good moment with a steal and finish but he committed three horrendous throw aways to the sideline to more than counteract the positive play.
I will stress again that next year's rotation should be Devezin, Hall, Bauer plus the six newcomers and that's it. Maybe a smidgen of LB for certain match-ups. As far as DG, JP and AV go...this has become a really LARGE sample of futility for all of them. Regardless of whether any of them has an isolated good game down the stretch...I think I've seen enough.
