I think they just need a couple wins like this and the earlier shortcomings will fade away from the memory bank. I would feel different if they went through the motions. These players play so hard for Martin. I think they are gonna be rewarded with a nice MAAC tourney. I foresee a couple wins and if they lose, they are going out fighting. Bauer and Gregory become big keys on this team. Gregory and Parris have the ability to be above average defenders and rebounders from the perimeter. And Gregory can can fouled on the drive and hit the 3 from the top of the circle. Bauer is the big that has the ability to give the team 10 pts, 7 rebounds. Devezin still probably hasn't hit his peak this year. We have to remember he was hurt and then was sick for a week or so. He will be primed for a big MAAC tourney. You know Schneider is gonna be pumped for the tourney. Gotta come out strong these next few games.

I think a little run at the end of this season into the tourney is possible. The schedule is not too tough. Confidence should be gained from tonight. To make the run though we will need Goodwin to give us what he did tonight...maybe not five 3's but at least two or three every game. This was the first time in about 12 games he had a positive contribution. His FT shooting though continues to be WORST on the team. That says alot on a team with Parris and LB.

The other key is Hall. His energy level looks good. He got in the lane a couple times tonight successfully, he's just in a shooting slump. He needs to be able to knock down that open 3 when it's there. We can't afford to have both our PG's be inept from long range. At least we know Hall has that shot...he needs to re-find it.

I like what I see from Bauer overall. LB is solid in small doses being active under the hoop. AV had some awesome looking FT's tonight. In seriousness he had a good rebound and a nice blocked shot. Best game ever for him. He didn't turn it over either. Despite that I need to see much more from him and luckily we can make our run without anything from him.

From here on out we need to see large doses of Schneider, Devezin and Gregory on the floor with Bauer getting most of the minutes at the 5, and than ride who ever's hot out of Parris, Goodwin and Hall as the supporting scorers.

Yea I agree with you Red Fox with your comment at the end there. We need to see Kaylin, Dave and Ryan all night and then ride whose hot between Goodwin, Hall and Parris.
Javon has played nicely over the last two games getting in the lane and finishing his runners. Also not turning the ball over and making the smart play within the offense.
R.J. just needs to be aggressive and play with confidence. When he does that, things should come to him easier. But what I want to focus on is two things. First, how this team can only win if someone else is up there in scoring with Schneider. In most of those loses over the losing streak, it would be Schneider in the high teans to low twenties and the next guy hopefully had ten points. Well when your getting both Schneider and Goodwin with 17 last night and then a few other key players around ten, thats where this team can win some games.
Second we must acknowledge how hard Kaylin played last night. Hes rebounding (10 reb) on the offensive end was incredibly helpful. You can tell this guy wants to leave it all on the floor as his career is coming to an end. Bum shoulder and all hes out there playing his tail off with the other senior schneider who has played about one million minutes this season and is still all out on every play as well. If these young kids can get behind their two seniors and just outplay teams, we will see some good things to come.

Good post Foxes, I agree with everything there. The second and third scoring option is key. This team usually can't win with just Schneider scoring. Unfortuantely they do not have any other consistent scorer but they have alot of streaky guys, guys who could go for 20 on any given night. Guys like Gregory, Hall and Devezin. If any of them catch fire over the next 5-6 games than we should make some noise in the tourney.
