Ok all true however -

With taking a 3 pointer only 1 variable is in place make it or miss it

With a foul:
1) he needs to MAKE the 1st then miss the second while making sure he HITS the rim (he misses the rim then its over) then his team has to GET the rebound

2) if the determine he is in act of shooting the three from behind midcourt (well so be it) he now still needs to make three FTs in a row under some serious pressure.

To me I will take my chances on the later then just putting some token D up and hoping he misses the 3 - cuz you arent going to put real D on because you dont want to foul.
