I made it to AHY and saw the latest debacle. News FLASH...they just aren't good enough to win. Say what you want, they have been out talented here at the second half. Teams have made the adjustment to Schneider and its all about ball denial with him. Even he doesn't get a pass. I remember Reggie Miller fighting like hell to get open for his 3's. Now I'm not going to compare him to a NBA Hall of Fame player but...he just hangs out waiting for his defender to collapse on the drive. Guess what, they're not collapsing any more. Fight around a screen already. Hall clanked another lay up with the game on the line. They better take his shoe laces away. Too many minutes for Taylor(who finally has his name sewn on). You want a positive...Bauer looked ok. Here comes the PIG.

Too make noise in the tourney, he has to keep progressing. All hope is not lost. This was a horrific loss, but every team has these. This season is all about building towards the MAAC tourney. Lets get the crappy play out now and start peaking late February thru March. It is almost looking like a lock we will be facing Siena second round. We aren't gonna lose the PIG game in my opinion. Lets travel our fans and ruin their storybook season like they ruined JJ's season.

Yankee: "This was a horrific loss, but every team has these"

What number horrific loss is this for us? By my count we've had 7...St. Bonaventure, Delaware-1st, Columbia, Siena-2nd, Canisius, Loyola-2nd and Fairfield.

I still have the faith like you but you have to admit we have had like 7 teams share of horrific losses.

I like the way you think Yankee.. :-) Beating Siena is not totally out of the realm if they play their A game

I watched this on Internet TV...I agree nothing positive to say about this one at all. You're right about Schneider tonight but overall I think he has done a decent job fighting through screens and looking to score in other ways (mid-range game, occasional drives and posts). He has the ability to put the ball on the floor and shoot off that dribble which is a good weapon for him. Tonight though he was definitely off his game. Not just the standing around but he missed alot of open shots and that offensive rebound put-back he had was an awful attempt...he's lucky he got it back and scored.

Taylor not only played too much tonight but he took too many shots. I'm fine with him playing D, passing around the perimeter on O and taking the open shot but he was hoisting today over the defense in the crucial moments of the game.

Hall played steady for the first 30 min but was bad down the stretch again. Parris does NOTHING offensively. Goodwin continues to be done. He hit two WIDE WIDE open three's but did nothing as long as the defender was within 5 feet of him.

Unfortunate mistake at the end of the game with the charge for Kaylen but all in all he remains our 3rd best scoring option after Ryan and David. I can't believe I'm saying that but it's true. He had a couple nice drives tonight. Bauer played better.

I am back to positive mode : )...I believe we will win the next game. At some point this group has to have a game where they play a good solid 40 minutes with positive contributions from more than 1 or 2 players! It has to happen right??? If/when it does it could get them rolling for the stretch run and the tourney!

I watched the game last night as well. FF played zone a good part of the game so Schneider was getting good looks most of the night, he just didn't knock them down. It happens, even though he didn't shoot well he still had 21. Also, when was the last time Schneider had the ball in his hand and someone set a screen for him? Our offense doesn't do it, he sets screens but never gets any set for him. At some point we need to put some of this on the coach. I like Martin, I think he has done a great job with a young team and has recruited well, however he is a new coach and is making "rookie" mistakes. Teams adjust to us but we don't adjust or change. When teams make a run we never mix things up, how about a zone for a few possessions, how about a little press or half-court trap. Even Duke, a man-to-man team occasionally will throw a zone at a team just to mix things up and confuse an opponent. The kids are playing hard and you can see are very frustrated with the losing, he needs to help them get out of this losing streak. Giving Taylor more minutes isn't the answer, we need to stop other teams runs and have well designed plays at critical moments in a game that either get us good looks or get us to the foul line.

Great point with the well designed plays. Martin has run very few set plays as he is trying to stick with the dribble drive I think too much. He just does not have the personnel right now to run that offense for an entire game. He should look to set up some good play calls that will take teams by surprise down the stretch and in the tourney.

I agree they need to mix things up. When we have teams on the ropes we usually see some sort of adjustment that gets them back in the game. When are guys are back on their heals we usually fold we don;t adjust and punch back. That needs to change.
