"spearheaded" the victory with two big baskets down the stretch and was games leading scorer. Looks like the Marist staff has found a diamond in the rough.

Yup.. He's gonna be a real nice addition. Very athletic. Can just play D next year and explode his sophmore year. They are going to be loaded. I don't think he's bringing in any marginal players. There's been way too much of that in years past. You hear all positive things and take one look and see that the guy can't play a lick. These guys can all play.

but given what's happened with Kaylen, you've got to wonder if it was the kids talent level, or the ability of the staff, or lack of it, to develop players?

How true oldfox. Just think the last coach only used Ryan Schneider as a part time player.
It's obvious the past coach was very poor judge of talent. Or simply a very poor coach.

CAA Insider also had very positive report on Sam's play regarding the game Oldfox highlighted:

Sam has really made great strides over the last year. He led the charge for the Panthers in this one. The explosive guard was at his best in transition. He made plays time and time again in the full court offensive. Sam used a nice spin move on one play and also finished with his left hand on another. He scored on several putbacks and grabbed a few other rebounds too. He made a couple nice passes as well. Sam was quiet from the perimeter, but very effective overall en route to a game high 22 points.

Sounds like quite a performance. Biggest problem CM could face next year is finding enough PT for everyone. Nice problem to have.

I believe that Schneider has had a great year for a below average team. He shot 33% last year and of all the players who shot over 100 times all of the others shot over 37.4%.

Also, he about to crush the 300 shot attempt mark and soon. Last year no one took more than 302. Basically, he is keeping us in games not winning us games. He is an average player trying to be really good.

His renewed aggressiveness, ability to rebound and try and lead is great and something this team was missing. I just think that he is not a winner.

Sounds great about the recruits though....remember "they are never as good as they sound or as bad as they play".
