Mistakes I Have Made


It’s hard to say no
So tempting at times
The devil on my shoulder
Don’t know what to do
They think I’m too young
But I want to fit in
My mother says “No”
“Don’t act like that”
I’m filled with anger
I’ll do what I want
Then five weeks later
Coughing and wheezing
Caught up in drugs
Yet not believing
No one has caught me
No one to say stop
Another week later
In a hospital bed
Mistakes I’ve made
Could cost me my life
