Subject: Cloning a graphic

I'm feeling stupid because I clearly don't understand what's going wrong.

I want to clone a graphic. I don't know the specific type of the graphic; it can be any of the supported formats. I need to have the class type of the new graphic be the same as that of the old. (Just having it as a DIBGraphic won't do.)

isb1 and clone are two image scroll boxes, previously created. isb1 has the graphic in it.

var magic: TDibGraphicClass;
magic:= TDibGraphicClass(isb1.Graphic.ClassType);
clone.Graphic:= magic.Create;

magic.create calls the right creator (say for a jpeg) but the class of clone.graphic is TDibGraphic rather than type specific to the original.

What am i doing / thinking wrong.
