Subject: OCR question

I have the full version of Envision and I was experimenting with the OCR system (which look great) but it looks like I need to buy the Transym OCR library on top. I don't mind so much, but it seems that if I wanted to distribute any OCR app then I would have to buy a license for each installation; Is that correct, or is there a free or royalty-free OCR system that I can use?
