Subject: Tif Quality Loss after Sharpen ??

I'm a bit puzzled by quality loss with Tiff files.

Using the demo I load a bitmap file.
Then using the "Image", "Format Conversion.." option
I convert the image to Black and White or GreyScale16/256
then save the file as a .tif.
I re-open the file and everything looks fine.

However, if I do the same as above but before saving I use "Image", "Sharpen" once. The image on screen looks much better but after saving and re-opening, the image is a blurred mess.

Am I doing something wrong?

Regards
Bruce
